ARPC Welcomes Junior Research Economist, Dr. Hongxi Zhao
The Agricultural Risk Policy Center (ARPC) at NDSU is pleased to welcome Dr. Hongxi Zhao as a Junior Research Economist. Dr. Zhao specializes in efficient land use and outcomes across the urban–rural spectrum.
She holds a Ph.D. in Agricultural, Environmental, and Development Economics from The Ohio State University. Her research addresses global challenges such as rapid population growth, energy constraints, and ecological system degradation. Using regional and environmental models, she applies modern econometric methods, non-market valuations, and model simulations to explore strategies for sustainable development.
“I’m excited to join ARPC and contribute to research that informs policies for resilient and sustainable land use,” said Zhao.
Dr. Zhao’s expertise will expand ARPC’s capacity to deliver policy-relevant, interdisciplinary research that bridges environmental and economic priorities.
