ARPC Welcomes New Senior Research Economist, Dr. Wuit Yi Lwin

The Agricultural Risk Policy Center (ARPC) at NDSU is excited to welcome Dr. Wuit Yi Lwin as a Senior Research Economist. Dr. Lwin brings a strong background in international agricultural markets, trade, and market disruptions caused by climate risks and transboundary animal diseases.

Dr. Lwin earned her Ph.D. in Agricultural Economics from Oklahoma State University. Her research explores how shocks like disease outbreaks and climate variability affect along the agricultural supply chains-from production to international markets, with a focus on the soybean and livestock sectors. She has a diverse research background, including analyses of price and demand systems, and examining the impacts of external shocks, such as COVID-19, on the national economy.

“I’m thrilled to join ARPC and contribute to its mission of delivering research that informs policy and helps producers navigate uncertainty,” said Lwin.

With her expertise in global market dynamics and policy-relevant analysis, Dr. Lwin is a welcome addition to the ARPC team.
