ARPC Welcomes Senior Research Economist, Dr. Junkan Li

The Agricultural Risk Policy Center (ARPC) at NDSU is pleased to welcome Dr. Junkan Li as a Senior Research Economist. Dr. Li’s expertise lies in economic modeling and policy analysis, with a focus on understanding the economic impacts of environmental shocks and climate risks.

He holds a Ph.D. in Economics from The Ohio State University. Before joining NDSU, Dr. Li was a Postdoctoral Research Associate at Cornell University’s School of Civil and Environmental Engineering, where he worked alongside atmospheric scientists, engineers, and sociologists to build quantitative frameworks for evaluating hurricane impacts and the effectiveness of mitigation policies.

“I look forward to contributing to ARPC’s mission by advancing interdisciplinary research that supports resilient agricultural and environmental systems,” said Li.

Dr. Li’s work bridges economics, agriculture, and environmental science, enhancing ARPC’s ability to provide data-driven insights for policy development.
